So, by week 13, the loft conversion was completed. Here are our favourite pics of the final product. As well as the loft, you can see the gym room and play room that we created after moving the bedroom and office upstairs.
It’s week 12. Painting is finished and the scaffolding comes down. Then the carpets are fitted, and the super king size mattress arrives. The office is set up
This week the dormer was rendered and the en suite basin was installed, along with the granite top for the glassy vanity unit.
This week the ensuite was almost finished, with the toilet installed, shower head and door fitted. Started painting the bedroom, and the bedroom door installed. The landing cupboard boarded out too. Electric point inside the cupboard for the powered TV aerial splitter / booster.
Ensuite shower built, with built in shelves, office painted, stairs boarded
Plasterboarding, and then painting! Also, shower tray installed and floor tanked with Aqua Panel.
More insulation and plasterboard goes up
In week 6, more insulation went in, along with first fit electrics and the shower plumbing. By now it is really taking shape. I was most surprised at the amount of insulation that goes into the loft – insulation and steel probably makes up a large bulk of the material cost. ,
