Today was a day of dust. The builders fitted 2 of the doors – the new door between the kitchen and the front hall and the double doors between the new living room and the “library” room (which will mostly store kids toys).
The builders decided to use the old living room / new kitchen area as their workshop. When I popped down in the afternoon there must have been 5mm of sawdust on the floor in some parts. Dust everywhere, including on my TV and home cinema equipment!
I spent the entire evening vacuuming downstairs. Have reduced dust a little. Well, a lot. Now suffering from major dust allergy.
Noticed in the corner of the old living room that the screed is cracked, slightly subsided and sounds a bit hollow. Hoping this is nothing serious. Will see what my plumber thinks tomorrow, and what the electrician thinks on Sunday, and then ask the builders what they think. Have also asked on a thread on DIYNot.com.
Hopefully it is nothing to worry about, but then, these things do worry me! Probably just slopping building by the company which constructed the house in 2002.
